Socrates

Socrates was born in Athens, which was the center of knowledge in that time one of the most important cities. He is one of the most important philosophers of all times.

Socrates was an old ugly guy, and in that time that was not accepted because they want perfection. This cause the inclination of Socrates to philosophy because he was very intelligent and was a master of argumentation, he was capable to give validation to anything he say. There’s when the people start talking about inner beauty.

He was the first in use the word philosophy, by criticizing the sophists that was the persons who teach people explaining the world but receiving a pay. And Socrates was against it, he say that “wisdom should not be charged”. So he started to give speeches in the streets, free classes, for anyone.

Socrates was very important because he start to talk about society, all what you need to conform a society and he talk about something important and is that societies are not perfect because they are not organized in the right way, but also he say that the cities are the only key to learn he don’t care about nature, and the reason is the way think with a purpose.

He is almost the first one in talk about ethics, which is the good and bad things, and he start to ask himself how we decide what is good and what is bad, how we categorize the right and wrong things. So he talks about the Devine voice, which was the voice of reason this can tell us, guide us to do good and there for we can be happy.

People against Socrates, start to accuse him of perverting the Childs and of introducing new gods (Devine voice) so he was forced to commit suicide.
With his dead the people start to think with divergence, they explore, and then there appears many philosophical schools.

So Socrates was very important because he start to fight against the system and a specific way to see and understand the world, and he break it and create many ways to see the world, he leave a legacy, and the opportunity to keep growing and understanding with other philosophers and disciples like Plato, he leave a system of knowledge and learning and knowing according to the necessity of all the people. He is a revolutionary man like Jesus.
